How does Radek keep in touch using Smart Contact Reminder?

Welcome to the first post of the interview series with users of the Smart Contact Reminder app. Today we’re talking to Radek from the UK. Radek is a power-user and has been using our app in order to help him stay in touch with his connections for over three years now after moving abroad from his home country. Radek agreed to share some of his experience of using Smart Contact Reminder with us. With his permission we’re happy to share them with you as well.

How did you first hear about Smart Contact Reminder?

I found it on Google Play store. I was looking for a contact reminder app and I tried several ones but I didn’t like the functionality of the apps I found. In the end I discovered Smart Contact Reminder and kept using it since then.

What does Smart Contact Reminder help you with?

Smart Contact Reminder pushes me to contact people that I wouldn’t normally contact very often. It’s the kind of people I don’t contact daily or every week, but maybe more like once a month, and often I completely forget to get in touch. And sometimes, even if I remember, I may be busy. Then I forget again and again and then I realize it’s already been a couple of months since I haven’t contacted them.

Also, I moved abroad a couple of years ago and it was really important for me to keep in touch with my old contacts. It’s difficult to stay in touch when you’re away and you don’t get to meet people regularly, so the app really helps me with that.

What’s your typical flow when using Smart Contact Reminder?

I have about 30, maybe 40 contacts in the application. The way I use Smart Contact Reminder is that basically I just wait for the reminders to pop up. I’m using the permanent notifications feature so I cannot dismiss them easily and that eventually encourages me to contact the people.

I also really like and extensively use the Automatic contact detection feature. It helps me in the sense that I don’t have to care about logging the contacts that I do talk to naturally as I just log the contacts when they happen and the app detects them. The contacts that I tend to neglect will pop up in reminders on the other hand.

What kind of contacts do you have in the app?

Mostly I have my family and friends in the app.

What’s in your opinion the most useful feature of the app?

For me personally, it’s the automatic contact detection as it’s what sets the application apart from its competitors. The other apps usually require you to log contacts manually.

Is there a feature you’re missing?

Yes, I’d like to be able to use a fully automatic contact logging. That would make my life even simpler. Ideally, I’d only see reminders for people that I don’t contact naturally, not reminders for people that I do contact on a regular basis.

Anything else you’d like to add?

Keep up the good work! ❤️
